Anthony Rossi will give us a rundown of how he established 1UpState, a Game Developer Expo in Albany. He will discuss how he managed stakeholders to make this event a success and give PMs a rundown on some industry terminology, as well as insights for PMs looking for opportunities!
In this presentation, Anthony will discuss the inspiration and process of planning this event, how he worked with officials and stakeholders to make it happen, and the business aspects of running the LLC. He will also provide some key definitions and terminology, as well as describe how PMs looking to enter the gaming industry can get started and contribute with their unique skillset.

About our guest speaker:
Anthony Rossi is the Event Director of the 1UpState Game Development Expo: A Celebration of Games and the people that make them. In his role, he leads a team of volunteers in organizing, producing, and hosting an expo centered on game development with three main goals: (1) Full Workforce Development Lifecycle Representation, (2) Supporting the Creative Economy, and (3) Goal 3: Reduce the Barrier to Entry into the Games Industry.
Anthony founded Crosstalk Media, LLC after a long history of informal entrepreneurial efforts, including working in the local music scene, content creation, and even voice over work. Leveraging work experience in Project Management from his day job and other skills developed as an active member in his Toastmasters club has proven effective in pivoting into these new efforts. Additionally, there are a variety of opportunities on the horizon, such as organizing additional similar events or pursuing hosting and speaking engagements.
